Typewriter Museum
The birthday of the typewriter is celebrated yearly on June 23. It was on this day in 1868 that American Christopher Scholes patented a typewriter in Wisconsin. This date is considered the birthday of the typewriter. With the appearance of this mechanism opened a new page in the history of writing and printing.
Maxim Suravegin, a collector from Krasnogorsk, has the largest collection of typewriters. His private museum has over seven hundred exhibits. They are all in working order and print in different languages, mathematical symbols and even sheet music. Some of them are preserved in single copies around the world. The collection is among the world’s top 10 museums and the largest collection in Russia.
